In the face of a fast-paced, disconnected world marked by illnesses, diseases, and depression, Kene Bari embraces permaculture as a positive, solution-based approach. In 2021, we initiated permaculture design systems on our protected land in Peru, aligning seamlessly with our values of caring for the earth, all living beings, and fostering abundance.

Work Exchange Program

Welcome to our Work Exchange Program, an enriching opportunity to immerse yourself in the vibrant life of the Peruvian Amazon while actively contributing to our projects. This program provides a unique blend of cultural immersion, skill application, and personal growth.

Who is it for?

Our program is designed for individuals with open minds and open hearts, dedicated to the growth of all beings and committed to living in alignment with nature. We seek those who are flexible and understand the importance of supporting each other in a community that values harmony with the unpredictable nature around us. Applicants should be physically fit and possess experience in any of the following fields:

Permaculture

Syntropic Forest

Landscape Gardening

Biology

A minimum commitment of 3 months is required, and individuals showing exceptional dedication may explore further collaborations, including assisting in a 4 weeks retreat in the jungle and leadership roles in medium or long-term projects.

Work Details

Participants are expected to engage in 6 hours of work per day, five days a week. A basic level of Spanish proficiency is important to collaborate effectively with the on-site team.

What do we offer?

Being part of our Work Exchange Program means immersing yourself in the Shipibo community, gaining new perspectives on life, and participating in their unique healing traditions. The ancient wisdom of the Shipibo people will become a valuable part of your experience, and nature itself will emerge as your greatest teacher.

As part of the program, we provide:

Three nutritious meals daily

Your own Tamboo accommodation with a private bathroom

Convenient pickup and drop-off services from your hotel or the airport

Bi-weekly assistance calls to ensure your comfort and progress in your work

Throughout your stay, you will have the privilege of drinking pure spring water from our grounds and being surrounded by the diverse flora and fauna of the Amazon. This immersive experience promises not just a work exchange but a transformational journey that extends beyond the confines of the program.
